National Older Worker Career Center Announces Name Change to National Experienced Workforce Solutions

Complete rebrand allows the organization to better reflect its work to help Federal agencies exceed their missions.

Arlington, VA, Release: March 1, 2022. For Immediate Release

National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions), formerly known as the National Older Worker Career Center (NOWCC), today unveiled its new name, logo, and look. The complete rebrand allows the organization to better reflect its work to help Federal agencies exceed their missions by placing sharp, experienced 55+ workers who can jump right into positions, apply their expertise, and help build a fully equipped intergenerational workforce.

This rebrand comes as NEW Solutions approaches its 25th anniversary. For the past two dozen years, NEW Solutions has helped provide staffing solutions for Federal agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency, the United States Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service, Economic Research Service, Agricultural Research Service and the U.S. Forest Service, in addition to the United States Department of the Interior’s National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, and more.

Says President and CEO, Cito Vanegas, “We are a creative, efficient, forward-looking organization. We are about solutions. We believe in the power of experience. Our branding should reflect the exciting and meaningful work we do.” For each of its partner agencies, NEW Solutions helps recruit a flexible workforce of experienced workers for jobs defined by the agency, to work closely with but not supplant federal staff.

“While our name and look are changing, our services will not,” states Kathleen Branch, Chief Operating Officer. “We will continue to do what we do best. When experienced 55+ workers want to do meaningful, flexible work and Federal Agencies face staffing and knowledge gaps, we bring them together.” Since 1997, NEW Solutions has provided over 21.5 million hours of support for the Federal workforce via a cadre of experienced workers serving mission critical needs in eleven key agencies.

To coincide with the rebrand, NEW Solutions launched its refreshed website, social media channels, graphics, communications, and correspondence, reflective of the new brand and visual identity. NEW Solutions can be found at www.NEWsolutions.org.

National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) has been selected #1 in “Best Nonprofits to Work For” by The NonProfit Times in 2014, 2015, 2019 & 2020

Founded in 1997, NEW Solutions is a well-established bridge that helps connect experienced workers to meaningful positions in the public sector. NEW Solutions provides cost effective, flexible, and innovative experienced worker programs that help federal agencies fulfill their missions. The organization has built a culture that listens to and serves the needs of its customers, and engages the whole staff in creating the most effective ways to meet those needs. The result is top-of-the-line quality customer service and a fully engaged staff.

Conducted by Best Companies Group from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the nationwide review looked at various elements of nonprofit operation, including: leadership and planning, corporate culture and communications, role satisfaction, work environment, relationship with supervisor, training and development, pay and benefits, and overall employee engagement.  Nonprofits that entered the competition completed an extensive application, followed by a 76 item on-line survey for every staff member. Over 10,000 staff completed the survey.

Leaders at nonprofits that topped the list of Best Nonprofits to Work For share common approaches, such as empowering employees and encouraging them to find their own creative solutions. NEW Solutions continues to learn from its customers and the experienced workers that it recruits, places and supports in nine federal agencies. Its diverse staff is dedicated to helping the nation value experienced workers as an untapped national resource that can play a critical role in sustaining economic growth and development.
