The Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program offers unique opportunities in Scientific, Technical, and Administrative / Office support for individuals age 55 and over to support the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through a grant administered program through National Older Worker Career Center (NOWCC). This is a unique program where your talents, expertise and experience will truly be valued. You'll be working side-by-side with EPA staff that are doing important work every day. Pay rate: $14.77/hr. This is the maximum amount budgeted through the grant to support this program. Duties:

Assists and coordinates the processing of purchasing documents for the Office of Criminal Enforcement, Forensics and Training (OCEFT), Resource Management Staff (RMS). Provides support for all areas for which the RMS has responsibility including budget, finance and procurement.

  • Assist with the processing of procurement actions and serve as receiving point; documents all procurements; directs document workflow; routinely interacts with NEIC, OCEFT, and OECA staff, and may interact with other EPA offices, including Office of Financial Management (OFM) and Office of Mission Support(OMS) to ensure proper processing of documents. Provides recommendations on process improvements to increase efficiencies. Maintains Procurement Tracking System in the PCORS and Approved Spending databases, runs and provides reports from databases, audits/reviews databases for consistency and accuracy. Accountable for accuracy, completeness and reconciliation of all data in the system. Updates and maintains records of all procurements in Adobe Acrobat. Reviews documents for data accuracy, appropriate signatures, justifications and other requirements in compliance with OCEFT and Agency policies. 75%
  • Performs data validation in the Agency’s Compass Financials Management Systems. Works with OCEFT administrative specialist to research, correct, update and delete records. Regularly checks databases for open commitments, unliquidated obligations and takes the necessary actions to maintain the integrity of the databases and completeness of OCEFT’s accounting records. Assists with the Agency’s Annual Review of Unliquidated Obligations (ULO) (reviewing and researching open items and updating the ULO database). 15%
  • Miscellaneous support including but not limited to: Assists the Legal Counsel Division when needed, orders supplies and tracks legal memos in the Criminal Case Reporting System (CCRS), maintains the legal memo spreadsheet and uploads memos to OneDrive; provides general support in resource management areas, including records control and file maintenance, correspondence, preparation of documents, document distribution, and office supplies inventory; assists in maintaining the OCEFT telephone directory, updating and distributing with corrections once per quarter, coordinates information and changes with field staff; maintenance of a spreadsheet in Excel of all Reimbursable Work Authorizations (RWAs) processed through RMS-West in any given fiscal year, updates data with actual costs and closeout information. 10%

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in Procurement / Finance OR AA Degree Previously completed training in Financial Management Systems / Software

  • Experience required with MS Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint, Fax, Copying Machine, Scanner
  • Online database applications, Online communications Applications.
  • Microsoft Teams, Sharepoint
