This position can be performed remotely in the U.S. NE area. The preferred location of the candidate will be within Pennsylvania or New York for the purposes of traveling to project locations. • The National Park Service (NPS) Experienced Services Program was established to create a unique partnership to help solve the workforce issues facing government agencies. The program connects experienced workers (age 55+) to the National Park Service to provide scientific, technical, operational, and administrative services in support of the NPS mission. • NPS ESP positions are meant to provide temporary, project-based support. This position is currently funded for an estimate of 35 weeks, subject to change based on budget and other factors. • A background security investigation may be required prior to the start date. Location, hours, and hourly pay are noted in this position description. • The experienced workers participating in the Program are referred to as “Enrollees” and are not employees of the NPS or NOWCC. NOWCC is the ESP non-governmental organization responsible for administrative aspects of the program, and the Enrollees work under NPS direction to assist the Agency staff in carrying out the National Park Service’s mission. • NPS ESP Enrollees benefit from the opportunity to keep technical skills current, to access new training opportunities, to engage in gainful project-based positions, and to undertake meaningful tasks using their experience and talent to contribute to the environment, the national economy and their own financial security. |

Duties: To provide technical planning and design assistance for Interior Region 1 Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance Program projects awarded in FY21 with primary focus on projects in the States of New York and Pennsylvania.
Qualifications: Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in community planning and/or landscape architecture, project management and public engagement. OR BA/BS Degree in Planning and Education
