Tribal Air Monitoring Technology Specialist (SNV-141)

Pay & Benefits: Pay rate: $18.01 /hr. Benefits: Paid Health Insurance Premium if working 30+ hours per week, Paid Vacation, Paid Sick Time, Paid Federal Holidays plus one Individual Holiday, and optional Vision and Dental Insurance available. Must be U.S Citizen and age 55 or older to apply. The duties of this position must be performed onsite at the EPA office location in Las Vegas, NV.

Duties:

Management, maintenance, and troubleshooting of ambient/indoor air samplers, air monitoring, and other equipment related to the Tribal Air Monitoring Support (TAMS) Center.

  • Inventory, calibration, and management of existing and future TAMS Program equipment 45%
  • Maintenance, troubleshooting, and upkeep of TAMS equipment. Develop and follow guidelines and Standard Operating Guides (SOG). Prepare, package, track, ship, and receive various equipment in the TAMS program. Recommend purchase of new equipment. 30%
  • Maintain proficiency with current and future Agency and TAMS Program approved computer software systems and software programs. Obtain cost estimates from vendors, input purchasing information into purchase systems to create purchase orders, track purchases and delivery of items, input items in Agency inventory management systems. 15%
  • Other Duties as assigned 10%

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in Ambient and Indoor Air monitoring OR BA/BS Degree in Any Science related fields (Environmental Science, Health Sciences, Chemistry, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Biology, etc.) would be acceptable

  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS SharePoint
  • MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams), OneDrive

Other:

  • Annual trainings as required by the Agency (i.e. Use of Agency computers/systems, Occupant Emergency Plan, etc.
  • Health Safety Training: Handling/working with ambient/Indoor air monitors
  • Health and Safety Considerations: The training will be provided in-house, post selection
  • Required Safety Gear: Gloves, hardhat, steel-toed shoes, safety goggles/glasses
  • Safety Gear Use: Whenever related hazards are present.
