The Experienced Services Program (ESP)

In 2018, the Department of the Interior was authorized under the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2018: Public Law 115-141, Section 115 to enter into cooperative agreements with nonprofit organizations to utilize the talents of older workers (ages 55+) to fill workforce gaps, accomplish unexpected or non-routine projects, prevent skill attrition, and mentor newer employees.  The work can be part- or full-time, short- or long-term, consistent or intermittent, project-focused or fulfilling a specific organizational function. The jobs can be of any nature – professional, technical, operational, administrative.
